You might know me as the host of Yogaland podcast and the former executive editor of Yoga Journal.
What you may not know is that I’m a living, breathing example of how much meditation and self-care can change your experience of life.
Before I found yoga and meditation I was prone to depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. I did not feel empowered to express myself clearly, so I stuffed my feelings, made sure I stayed quiet and felt a ton of resentment toward everyone and everything.
While it didn’t happen overnight, a steady meditation practice felt like a complete rewiring of the way that I saw the world, the way that others saw me, and the way that I communicated. It was truly liberating.
These days, as a mom and a breast cancer survivor, I value my health and my ability to be present with my family and friends above all the other things -- meditation and regular self-care help me do that.
